Benjamin B. Ferencz Fellowships in Human Rights and Law (World Without Genocide)
Ferencz Fellows work in teams on human rights issues by developing an education and advocacy strategy and implementing the strategy over the course of the academic year. Compassion, empathy and respect for diversity are key qualities that are nurtured and expanded through the Ferencz Fellowship program. The program has been operating for six years with two employees and 50 volunteers. Minnesota Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (MN FCCLA)
Minnesota FCCLA members develop skills for life through character development, creative and critical thinking, planning, goal setting, problem solving, decision making, interpersonal communication, practical knowledge, and career preparation. Chapter projects focus on a variety of youth concerns. The program has been operating for 72 years with two employees and more than 300 volunteers. They serve 3,159 students in grades 6–12 annually. Urban Learning Center After School Program (Hospitality House Youth Development)
The Urban Learning Center provides academic and behavioral intervention and instruction through an after-school education program for underserved children. The program teaches leadership skills including perseverance, dealing with conflict and building relationships. They also partner with other organizations to provide character development and community service. The program has been operating for 19 years with six full-time and nine part-time employees and 59 volunteers. They served 178 youth ages 4–18 in 2018. For more information visit www.hhyd.org.
