Avalon’s 1012th grade students organize a student orientation where they welcome new students to their projectbased program and throughout September act as mentors to the new students.

School Wide Read

Ellis student groups POWER UP!
The POWER UP groups meet weekly to discuss struggles, assets and set goals towards making positive choices and persevering though challenges.

Random Acts
In conjunction with the monthly school theme of “Caring,” sixth grade students identify and perform a "Random Act of Kindness" in the community. Afterwards, they reflect and write about the experience and do a presentation.

MNOHS Student Recognition Programs
Many students at all academic levels are recognized for their efforts, attitude and progress. Personalized emails are sent to students and their families. Students complete a survey to reflect on their strengths identified in the recognition and student profiles are highlighted in a weekly newsletter.

A program providing food to those in need, while teaching students empathy, caring and responsibility.
